Dun Laoghaire Baths Update
11th October 2005
Dear Resident
Dun Laoghaire Baths – Latest update
Councillor Mary Mitchell O’Connor and I are writing to inform you about what occurred at the most recent Council meeting regarding the Dun Laoghaire Baths.
The good news is that the massive development that was being proposed has been ruled out. Any future development will have to enhance the recreational amenity of the baths site. This change in emphasis is a testament to the actions and engagement of local residents. I pay tribute to every one who got involved.
It was agreed at the Council meeting that a sub committee would be established to examine four different options going forward. Two of these options include levelling the site and extending the walkway. The other two involve refurbishment of the site and construction of a 25m swimming pool. Mary has been appointed to this sub committee, together with the other ward councillors.
If you would like more details on the various options being proposed please see my website voteno1.com, or contact Mary on 086-8186725 or myself on the number below. We will be happy to answer any queries.
With best wishes,
